On June 28, 2023, the Selectboard approved the creation of the Climate and Energy Committee, with the following remit: The Shelburne Climate and Energy Committee engages with residents, businesses, and the town to build our community's long-term energy future and to reduce our town's contribution to the climate crisis, according to recommendations in the Town Plan. The committee assists the town in transitioning to renewable energy where opportunities exist, in building climate resilience, and by advising on the impact of land use policy as it relates to climate issues. The committee works with the Regional Planning Commission, including identifying and applying for grants.
Membership and Meetings
The committee will have a minimum of five members, appointed by the Selectboard for terms of 2 or 3 years. Meetings are held on the fourth Friday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 2.
