The Shelburne Communications Center Training Program includes the following components:

Classroom Training:

  • 40 Hours - Vermont Enhanced 911 Calltaker Certification
  • 16 Hours - Vermont Enhanced 911 Equipment Training
  • 24 Hours - Vermont Enhanced 911 Mentor Certification (Full-time Staff Only) 
  • 80 Hours - Dispatcher Training
  • 8 Hours - National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Training
  • 16 Hours - Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Training

Field Supervised Training:

  • 360 Hours - Field Supervised Training (On the Job Training)

Continuing Education:

  • 16 Hours - Annual Vermont Enhanced 911 Calltaker Training
  • 8 Hours - Annual Vermont Enhanced 911 Mentor Recertification (Full-time Staff Only)
  • 24 Hours - Vermont Enhanced 911 Calltaker Recertification (Every 3 years)
  • 16 Hours - Annual Dispatch Training
  • 4 Hours - Annual NCIC Training
  • 8 Hours - Annual CPR and First Aid Training
