PIERSON LIBRARY 5376 Shelburne Road Shelburne, Vermont 05482 Phone: 802-985-5124 Fax: 802-985-5129 Pierson Library to host Digital Bookmobile National Tour event on Tuesday, August 31 from Noon to 6:00pm The Pierson Library in cooperation with the Green Mountain Library Consortium will host the Digital Bookmobile National Tour, an impressive audiobook download experience inside a 74-foot, high-tech tractor-trailer. Readers of all ages are invited to engage in digital downloading through interactive demonstrations and experience audiobook, eBook, music, and video download service at this free event. A gadget gallery featuring iPod®, Zune® and Sony®Reader™ will help visitors discover portable devices that are compatible with this digital download service. Everyone who participates in the bookmobile tour can register to win an MP3 player and start downloading audiobooks right away! Additionally, visitors to the bookmobile event can get free library cards, if they meet residency requirements, and learn about other Library and Consortium services and events. Sure, we have lots of books...but we also offer: Wireless internet access, public computers, videos, audiobooks, periodicals, programs for kids and adults, online catalog access, passes to state parks and area museums, and more … There’s always something happening @ your library! | | SEPTEMBER PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS Thursday, September 16 at 6:30 PM: Initial planning meeting for the Pierson Library book discussion group. This will be the time to discuss the format of the meetings and to choose the book titles for subsequent meetings. A regular meeting day and time will be set as well. Learning Email: Pierson Library will be offering introductory computer classes to help teach the skills necessary for sending and checking email messages. Two Friday classes: September 10 and September 17 from 11-11:45 AM. Classes will be taught by Carolyn Siccama. Tuesday, September 21 at 6:30 PM: Author Deborah Lee Luskin will be here to talk about her recent novel, Into the Wilderness, a love story set in Vermont. | | YOUTH PROGRAMS Storytime resumes Thursday, September 2, 2010! Story time with Mary Catherine Jones! Thursdays at 10:30 am Musician and storyteller extraordinaire Mary Catherine Jones brings stories, songs and rhymes to the Pierson Library!
