JUNIOR INTRODUCTION TO GOLF
Join Mike Bailey, PGA Professional, to learn the fundamentals of a game that can be played for a lifetime. Instruction will be offered on putting, chipping, pitching, sand play, and the full swing. Proper golf etiquette and good sportsmanship will be strongly promoted. Clubs will be provided for those who need them. Limited to 10 students / class. (Kids in 7th grade and up may join the adult class on Thursday nights. See page 5 for dates and information.)

FALL INTO YOUNG REMBRANDTS
Join Young Rembrandts this fall and draw and cartoon your way through a variety of fun and exciting scenes. We will have a lot of fun as we draw geese flying south, a variety of sports-related balls, pumpkins growing on a wild and crazy vine and a patterned bat. To keep things light-hearted, we will also have fun with some cartoons of funny hats and the whacky things that can happen when you jump in leaf piles! Join us and learn skills that will offer you a lifetime of creativity! Min. 8 , Max. 18. For children in grades 1st through 4th.

DANCE AND CHEER WORKSHOP
This fun workshop will have participants moving and grooving to all kinds of beats! We'll learn about 8 counts, and use them to choreograph some great dances and cool cheers! Kids will learn jumps, arm motions and basic tumbling. This is a great opportunity to see if your child is interested in our upcoming cheer team! No experience necessary, just a smile! Kids should feel free to bring any cheer or dance move to share if they'd like!

FAMILY WREATH WORKSHOP
Join Shelburne resident and Landscape Designer, Charlotte Albers, for a fun afternoon making a seasonal wreath! Wreaths will be constructed with fresh aromatic greens and cuttings including wine-red dogwood stem, yellow dogwood, winterberry, holly, rhododendron and boxwood. Enjoy hot cider and the fragrance of evergreens as you create an original wreath for your front door, shed or fencepost. For children ages 8 and up, with one adult per child please.

ARC BABYSITTING CLASS
A must for all babysitters! This American Red Cross certified class covers growth and development, toy selection, safety issues and basic first aid. Be the most wanted sitter in the neighborhood! Participants will receive a text book, emergency reference guide, and a CD Rom of useful tools and games to take home. Please pack a lunch. Min. 8, max. 15 participants. For ages 11 and up.

GIRL SPIRIT CREATIVE YOGA WORKSHOPS
Join Sylvia Kabusk, certified Ananda Yoga instructor, for a fun and refreshing afternoon of dancing, playing, creating, moving, and relaxing! Girls will explore a joyful and fun-filled afternoon of yoga through games, stories and cooperation/trust activities. We will also express ourselves through creative dance and a craft. All activities will support the goal of fostering the self-confidence, self-expression, and positive self-image of each girl. Girls will meet the instructor in the Shelburne Community School main lobby after school and walk over together to the Town Center Gym. They will eat lunch together before starting their exciting afternoon activities (please pack your own lunch). A yoga mat will be provided for use during the workshop. A maximum of 14 girls per workshop will be accepted. Register early to reserve your spot! You must pre-register by the Monday before each workshop. Min. 5 participants.

SHOTOKAN KARATE-Classes taught by Brandon Hier. Classes will be held at the Shelburne Town Gym. **Family discounts apply-1st person in family pays full amount, additional family members may take $15 per person/ per session.
 
FAMILY KARATE
This program will help children develop their self-esteem, focus their energy and develop character while learning safety techniques and awareness skills through basic Shotokan Karate Techniques. Focus will be placed on developing hand-eye coordination, balance and mental focus, leadership and partnership skills, setting and obtaining goals and building self-confidence. In addition, children will develop skills to resolve conflicts without fighting and to control their anger by focusing on helping rather than hurting others. They will also learn to develop "safety zone" perception and stranger awareness. (Fee does not include
required uniform. Purchase through www.karatedepot.com. Cost is $20 or less.) Parents are welcome and encouraged to join with their kids! For Ages 6 and up.

YOUTH BASKETBALL
This popular recreational program emphasizes the basics of the sport, along with good teamwork and sportsmanship. This is a non-competitive league with one scheduled practice a week and games on Saturdays. The program is open to youth in grades 1st-6th. Grades 1st-2nd are co-ed, and grades 3rd- 6th have separate girls and boys teams. Regular practices and games will start the first week of January and continue up until February Break. Grades 1st-2nd will practice and scrimmage on Sat. mornings. Grades 3rd– 6th will practice one night a week and play a game on Saturday mornings. 1 or 2 practices will be scheduled in December (see below). Grades 3rd - 6th will compete against other Towns’ Recreational teams from the Champlain Valley Recreation Association. Games will be played both in Shelburne and out of town. MOUTH GUARDS are HIGHLY recommended.

**Volunteers are needed for coaches. If interested, please call the Recreation Office at 985-9551 or indicate on your child’s registration form .

FEBRUARY VACATION CAMP
We will host a camp full of games, activities, crafts and lots of fun the week of vacation! Registration is limited to 20 kids. Please sign up early! Campers will need to bring with them each day: lunch, gym shoes, and appropriate clothing for outdoor play. Sorry, there is no discount if your child does not attend every day.
