ADULT AND SENIOR PROGRAMS
 

GENTLE YOGA
Rejuvenate your body and mind with the pleasure of gentle yoga. This mat class follows a slow and relaxing pace. You will experience postures reclining, seated and standing on your mat. Open to adults of ANY age! Please bring a mat and blanket. Max. 15.
Days/ Time: Tuesdays, 9-10:15 AM
Cost: $55.00 / session

MATTER OF BALANCE
Managing concerns about falls, because the fear of falling can be just as dangerous as falling itself! This FREE award-winning program is run by Fletcher Allen with volunteers from RSVP. They will help you learn to: view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals for increasing activity, become more aware of your environment and make changes where necessary, practice exercises to increase strength and balance. The target audience for this program are seniors who: are concerned about falls, have sustained a fall in the past, restrict activities because of concerns about falling, are interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength. INTRO TO GOLF AT KWINIASKA
A basic intro to the game of golf for beginning adults or long time players wishing to improve fundamentals. Instruction on all aspects of the long and short game including full swing, chipping, putting, pitching, bunker play, and etiquette of the game. Clubs will be provided if needed. Min 3/Max. 8. We reserve the right to cancel or combine classes if needed.
Fee: $80.00
Time: 5:00-6:00 PM
Session I: Thursdays, May 6 - June 3
Session II: Thursdays, June 10 - July 8

*Shelburne Residents ONLY may register until 4/2.
After 4/2, open to non-residents (NO WAIT LIST).
 
BASIC DOG OBEDIENCE
Develop control, teach your pet manners and gain a better understanding of your canine companion. This class helps you to be a better owner and your dog to be a better pet! Dogs must be at least 6 months old. Please note-- dogs do not attend the first class. Basic obedience training includes basic socialization, heel, sit, stay, come, down-stay and
stand-stay. Max. 16 dogs/ class.  You must preregister.  Kids are welcome to attend with an adult.
Day/Time: Mondays, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Dates: April 19 - June 7 (no class 5/31)
Cost: $75.00 (Non–residents ~ $85.00)
Location: Outside Town Office Building
 
 
SHELBURNE COMMUNITY GARDENS
The Gardens are located at the LaPlatte Nature Center and offer tilled plots with water access. A limited number of plots are available for 2010 on a first come, first serve basis. Gardening agreement forms are available at the Recreation Office or call for more information. New gardeners may sign up after April 1st.

FREE SENIOR WALKING PROGRAM
 
We want to encourage seniors to stay active and healthy!  To support activity during the icy and cold winter months, we are opening the town gym for you to come and walk in a safe and warm environment.  Please bring a pair of clean, dry soft-soled shoes with you and change before entering the gym.  Walk with a friend or bring some music and enjoy the exercise!  No registration is required.   Shelburne Residents only.

The Green Mountain Passport is a state sponsored discount program for seniors 62+ and veterans with disabilities. For only $2.00, seniors can apply for the card at their local Town Clerk’s Office and receive FREE ADMISSION to all Vermont State Parks and state sponsored events. You can also receive discounts at a variety of businesses. For more information,
