Boards, Commissions and Committees 

Bike & Pedestrian Paths Committee: 

The Paths Committee consists of Rob Donahue, Chair, Steve Gronlund, Steve Antinozzi, Chris Trapeni, Doug Merrill, Catherine Matosky and Gabriela Meyer. They are responsible for the planning and implementation of a path system linking key destinations in Shelburne with surrounding communities. The committee meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Town Office Building. Call the Planning & Zoning Office at 985.5118 during office hours for more information.

Board of Civil Authority: 

The Board of Civil Authority is composed of the Town Clerk, the Selectboard, and the Justices of the Peace of the town.  All of these offices are elected.  The members of the Board are Nancy Baker, Dennis Bowen, Chris Chiarello, Pete Gadue, Al Gobielle, Laura Gannon-Murakami, Colleen, Haag, Maria Horn, Holly Jones, Jennifer Leopold, Tom Little, Sally Martel, Rebecca Moore, Carroll Ockert, Tim Pudvar, Bob Roesler, George Schiavone, William Smith, Cathy Spaulding, Gary Von Stange and David Webster. Cemetery Commission: 

The Cemetery Commission consists of Stuart Morrow, Chair, Ruth Morrow, Stephen Gregory, Robert Wooster, and Joe Canty.  Also, see the cemetery page of our website.

Champlain Valley Union School Directors:  Jeff Parker, Joan Lenes, and Rebecca Moore.

Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization: 

The Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization (CCMPO) is responsible for transportation planning in the Burlington urbanized area. Shelburne's representative is: Jim Dudley and the alternate is George Schiavone. The Commission meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7 PM at the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission offices located at 30 Kimball Ave. Suite 206, South Burlington, VT 05403. Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission: 

The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) is responsible for creating the regional plan and serves as a forum for regional planning issues. Shelburne's members are: Jake Callery, alternate representative is vacant. The CCRPC Board of Commissioners meets the 4th Monday of each month at 6 PM at their offices on 110 West Canal St, Suite 202, Winooski, VT 05404. Development Review Board (DRB): 

The Development Review Board consists of Peter Gibbs, Chair, Mark Sammut, Vice Chair, David Conard, Jacques (J.D.) Landry, Anna Palmer, Kay Kraushaar, and Claude LaPierre.

Historic Preservation and Design Review Commission: 

The members of the Historic Preservation and Review Committee are Fritz Horton, Chair, Oda Hubbard, David Epstein, Laurie Valentine, Tom Koerner, Dorothea Fraver Penar, Barbara Hamblett and Ann Milovsoroff. The Commission meets on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of the month.

Historic Sites Committee:  The Historic Sites Committe is comprised of Carroll Ockert, Chair, Stuart Morrow and Carol Casey.

Justices of the Peace:  David Webster, Nancy E. Baker, Catherine Hogan Spaulding, Richard Lednicky, Jennifer Leopold, Carroll Ockert, Marsett Ockert, George Schiavone, Walter Bruska, Rebecca Moore, Thomas Little, Maria Horn, Kristine Oxholm, Mark Lewis and Dennis Bowen.

Natural Resources and Conservation Committee: 

The Natural Resources & Conservation Committee consists of Gail Albert, Chair, Sean MacFaden, Bill White,  Robert Ryder, Peg Rosenau, Judith Peabody, Charlotte Albers and Don Rendall. They review projects for their impact on Shelburne's natural resources. The committee initiates conservation land acquisition for the town. In addition, they organize educational events and tree sales. The committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7 PM in the Town Office Building. Pierson Library Trustees: The Pierson Library trustees are: Robert Dilts, Chair, Marleen Moore, Carolyn Siccama, Maxie Ewins, LeAnn Podruch, Lisa Perrault, and Michelle O'Brien.

Planning Commission: 

The Shelburne Planning Commission consists of Dick Elkins, Chair, Tucker Holland, Kate Lalley, Brian Precourt, Daren Jorgensen, Ronald A. Bouchard, and Henry Chauncy, Jr.  The Planning Commission approves subdivisions, site plans and boundary line adjustments and is responsible for revisions to the Subdivision and Zoning Regulations as well as the Town Plan.   The commission meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Town Center Office Building. Recreation Committee: 

The Parks & Recreation Committee consists of Peggy Coutu, Chair, Pam Brangan, Marv Thomas, Ann Clark, Sue McLellan, Kathleen Pudvar, Bruce Whitbeck, and Renee Davitt.  They oversee the management of the town's parks, recreation programs and sports leagues. The committee meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Conference Room at the Town Office Building. Call the Parks & Recreation Director for more information at 985.9551.

Selectboard: 

A five member elected Selectboard governs the town. The board sets policy through budgets, ordinances and tax rates among other regulatory duties. They meet regularly the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Town Office Building. The public is invited to attend these meetings. Shelburne Town School Directors: 

The Town School Directors are: Grant Bush, Chair, Russell Caffry, Jody Beckenridge Hilker, Jed Graef and Luanne Cantor. The Shelburne School Board meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 PM. The meetings are usually held at the Shelburne Town Center third floor conference room.

Community School K-5 Principal, Allegra Miller, Community School 6-8 Principal, John Bossange, CVUHS Principal, Sean McMannon, CSSU Superintendent, Elaine Pinckney. 

Social Services Committee:  Social Service Committee consists of Fred Koch, Chair, Sally Wadhams, and Jane Zenaty.

Town Clerk Appointments:  Assistant Town Treasurer - Sandra Lewis, Assistant Town Clerk - Lisa Mann, Assistant Town Clerk - Susan Moraska.

Water Commission:  

The Shelburne Water Commission is comprised of three members appointed by the Selectboard. Peter Gadue, Chair, Frank Cole and Laura Gannon-Murakami. The commission sets policy and the prices of public water delivery to Shelburne residents. The commission meets each month at the Town Office Building. Zoning Board of Adjustment:  Zoning Board of Adjustment has been replaced by the Development Review Board (DRB). (see above)
